It was an extraordinarily windy day, too windy for a banner on poles. So the car bears the banner. The meet up point was close by, at the NWB Trailhead.` |
02
A couple of hours later, Ellen Silverberg and Lev Friedman returned with bags... |
03
... and bones, served on a Corelle glass plate, caked with dirt (in which seeds were sprouting), but the plate was not even chipped. |
04
Glenn Welch collected a ton of junk that would not go into bags. Anne Ambler, Lev, and Claire McCullough contributed bags of bottles, cans, and smaller stuff. |

Lev has his bones in his bag to take home. |

John Fay missed the group pictures, adding his bags to the pile only at the stroke of noon. The total was 12 bags plus many pounds of loose debris. Probably half of the bagged trash could have been recycled if it hadn't been pitched into the park – beer bottles and cans, plastic bottles, and plastic bags. Bag and/or bottle fee, anyone? We'd have cleaner parks and we could devote our energies to pulling out invasive plants or building raingardens. |
