The Mile-a-Minute Campaign
Brookside Nature Center
September 17, 2008

Answering a call for help from Brookside Nature Center staff, a sturdy band of Neighbors attacked a field of Mile-a-Minute vine (aka Tear Thumb) enveloping an area that staff had attempted to reforest. Instead of the usual Saturday morning, we tried an "after work" time instead, 5 p.m. We had cleared the whole field by 6 p.m., earlier than expected.

Jim Templeton from the Winding Orchard neighborhood nearby, has a tiger by the tail. Note the log behind him completely covered with vines.
