Hike the Northwest Branch from West Hyattsville Metro to Adelphi Mill9:30am - 12:30pm, Saturday, May 17 Get away from automobile traffic and experience the beautiful, natural environment! Discover the nature that is in your own back yard! Explore the parkland and stream that meanders through the neighborhoods of Avondale, Hyattsville, Chillum, Lewisdale, Cool Springs Terrace, Langley Park and Adelphi. Meet at the West Hyattsville Metro Station near the entrance to the hiker/biker trail between 9:15 and 9:30 for refreshments and then start hiking at 9:30. Along the way we will get lessons on the history and environment of the Northwest Branch.
This is about a 6 mile hike which should take approximately 3 hours to hike up and back.
Directions: Take either Riggs Rd or Queens Chapel Rd to Ager Rd and the West Hyattsville Metro is on the west side of Ager Rd. We will meet at the back of the Metro parking lot near the gate leading to the Northwest Branch Trail.
