Woodmoor Green Team

The Woodmoor Green Team is a group of neighbors interested in greening the Woodmoor community (a Silver Spring community) by encouraging an environmentally friendly lifestyle that is easy on the wallet, family, and eyes. The team also includes partners such as the local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops and the Pinecrest Elementary School Green Team.

Why form a green team?

Climate change, dependence on fossil fuels, poor watershed quality, pollution, erosion, and habitat loss are just some of the daunting ecological challenges we face. The Woodmoor Green Team helps people who want to go green but don't know where to begin, as well as those who want to share green ideas with the community. They suggest simple steps that people can do at home to become more environmentally friendly. They increase awareness of the resources and activities available that encourage green living. Neighbors of the Northwest Branch (NNWB) have supported its creation and growth. The problems and issues are large and sometimes complicated, including the problems that are directly impacting the Northwest Branch. NNWB has found that it is important that communities tackle these issues in an organized manner.
